In memoriam for Texas floods, 07/4/2025
A weeping sky
gave way to a river of tears
that washed away
so many hearts ...
too many hearts.
It took away children.
It took away grownups.
It took away pets,
leaving us who loved them
the broken pieces of our hearts.
It took away trees
cars, houses,
furniture, clothing, toys ...
The river broke into homes,
leaving us the breeding ground of mold.
A weeping sky

leaving us
